Casey Marvin’s journey into the world of luthiery is a testament to his lifelong dedication to craftsmanship and innovation. From a young age, Casey’s hands were drawn to woodworking, a passion that began so early he can’t recall a time without it. By the age of 9, he was using his first set of power tools, and by 12, he had turned his focus to guitars, working on heavy modifications, reshaping bodies, customizing finishes, and transforming instruments to meet the needs of players.

At 16, Casey took the leap into building guitars from scratch, founding C.J. Marvin Guitars, his first custom shop dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind instruments. His early success and relentless pursuit of excellence set the foundation for a career that would redefine what custom guitars could be.

To refine his skills and deepen his expertise, Casey studied under Charles Fox, one of the world’s most renowned luthiers and a pioneer in modern guitar craftsmanship. This invaluable mentorship led to Casey teaching alongside Charles at the American School of Lutherie, where he passed on his knowledge and passion to aspiring luthiers from around the globe.

In 2010, Casey founded Veritas Custom Guitars, a brand that reflects his dedication to innovation, artistry, and the highest standards of craftsmanship. Veritas has become known for its meticulous attention to detail and iconic designs, such as the Portlander and FiveOThree, which showcase Casey’s ability to blend timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge techniques.

Casey’s approach to luthiery is deeply personal. He views every guitar as a collaboration between builder and musician, designed to inspire and amplify the artist’s creativity. His decades of experience working with wood, coupled with his unmatched understanding of tone and design, ensure that each Veritas guitar is more than an instrument—it’s a masterpiece.

When he’s not in the workshop, Casey enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new creative ventures, and continually pushing the boundaries of his craft.
